Air End Assemblies
A rotary screw air end assembly is a 4 piece design, consisting of a male and a female rotor, housed inside a 2 part assembly. At Kaeser we manufacture, “in house” oil injected and oil free rotary screw air ends. The Kaeser assemblies differ from any other manufacturer for a number of reasons. The male and female rotors are manufactured specifically for one another, and are married inside the air end assembly to ensure maximum output capacity and minimal air compressor blow back.CAGI endorse Kaeser output efficiencies and kilowatt consumption as the market leader and best in class for most rotary screw products. The air end is driven by an electric motor or a diesel, or electric engine (engines drive portable mobile compressors) via a gearbox, belts and pulleys, or a direct drive arrangement. The power source rotates the male air end rotor in one direction, and the female is subsequently driven in the opposite direction to create a vacuum. This vacuum ingests ambient air in between the male and female rotors with compression occurring as the rotors turn and increase pressure. Typically a rotary screw air end requires new bearings, and an overhaul at approximately 10 years service life, or approximately 80,000 load hours. Air Solutions Canada performs air end rebuilds and replacements. Our exchange program provides a convenient and expedited means of swapping an air end within a few hours, as opposed to removing the existing air end and rebuilding it for a number of days. This leaves you without the use of that particular air compressor during the rebuild period.

The system
The air end is driven by an electric motor or a diesel, or electric engine (engines drive portable mobile compressors) via a gearbox, belts and pulleys, or a direct drive arrangement. The power source rotates the male air end rotor in one direction, and the female is subsequently driven in the opposite direction to create a vacuum. This vacuum ingests ambient air in between the male and female rotors with compression occurring as the rotors turn and increase pressure.
How it works
Our tried-and-tested approach to get you a reliable compressed air solution at the lowest possible cost of ownership looks like this:
Discovery call
Our solutions specialist visits your facility to discuss your current situation, pain points, future plans, and potential government incentives. We can undertake as little, or as much, of your project as you would like.
Requirement analysis
We analyze the compressed air equipment at your facility, its performance, condition, control mechanisms, and suitability. We ensure that storage, piping, and compressed air quality are in line with your requirements and best practices.
Turnkey design and installation
Everything we do is “in house.” Compressed air system design, air audits, leak detection, design, build, installation, and air compressor service are handled quickly and efficiently. This approach means that we manage every aspect of your project and create single source supply for you and your organization.
Maintenance and repair
Whether you require emergency breakdown response, predictive, or preventative maintenance our team has you covered. Air end and motor service and rebuilds, piping system, and analysation are also available.
