Master Controllers/Sequencers
Concerned about managing multiple compressors without a central controller? Without a compressor master controller, each unit must be manually set to respond to changes in air demand, leading to inefficiencies and higher energy costs. Additionally, the potential of VSD or centrifugal machines remains underutilised.
A Master Control system ensures that your air compressors stop and start according to the compressed air demand in your facility. Kaeser’s sigma air manager, SAM, monitors, and writes algorithms to monitor and operate your compressed air station to the best of its ability. With the addition of SAM’s monitoring system he tracks system performance and cost data, providing insights into improvement initiatives and enabling immediate verification of savings, such as those from leak detection projects.
Operators have the ability to monitor the system remotely via Ethernet connection and allocate air consumption costs accurately to different departments based on flow. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are also available from SAM, continually and instantaneously. These include hydro power costs, flow, pressure, and kW/100 cfm. Maintenance costs can also be reported, along with alarms set to alert operators of system malfunctions or cost increases.
It's all about efficiency, reliability, and connectivity with master controllers, which offer the following benefits:
- Optimization of compressed air and blower systems according to ISO50001 standards while maintaining pressure and flow setpoints.
- Maximisation of energy savings and maintenance of equipment in optimal condition.
- Monitoring of equipment for proactive maintenance, real-time data visualisation, and energy savings KPI tracking.
Looking to evenly distribute the load among your compressors? Our central controllers can ensure uniform wear across multiple machines, enabling more efficient service scheduling and cost reduction. Plus, VSD and centrifugal units will operate at their optimal points whenever feasible.

The system
A master controller is typically installed within the air compressor station, however options are available for locating them outside of the compressor room in more accessible areas. With the addition of Ethernet connectivity master controllers, such as Kaeser’s sigma air manager, SAM, can be accessed and monitored remotely from anywhere in the world.

How it works
Our tried-and-tested approach to get you a reliable compressed air solution at the lowest possible cost of ownership looks like this:
Discovery call
Our solutions specialist visits your facility to discuss your current situation, pain points, future plans, and potential government incentives. We can undertake as little, or as much, of your project as you would like.
Requirement analysis
We analyze the compressed air equipment at your facility, its performance, condition, control mechanisms, and suitability. We ensure that storage, piping, and compressed air quality are in line with your requirements and best practices.
Turnkey design and installation
Everything we do is “in house.” Compressed air system design, air audits, leak detection, design, build, installation, and air compressor service are handled quickly and efficiently. This approach means that we manage every aspect of your project and create single source supply for you and your organization.
Maintenance and repair
Whether you require emergency breakdown response, predictive, or preventative maintenance our team has you covered. Air end and motor service and rebuilds, piping system, and analysation are also available.
